A tasty sweet as seen in Series 4 Episode 8. This is a very simple recipe with minimal ingredients and cooking time. It’s fantastic to have with a Greek coffee on the side. Just don’t eat too much of it, because it’s not exactly the healthiest snack….but it sure is delicious!
· 1cup sugar
· 2 ¼ cups hot water
· 250g butter
· 260g flour
· Ground cloves
· Extra sugar
· Place sugar in a bowl, add hot water then stir until sugar has dissolved and set aside
· Melt the butter in a frying pan and add the flour. Stir until the mix gets a medium to dark caramel colour. If done slowly it can take up to 20’.
· Add all liquid set aside to the frying pan. Keep the frypan on the heat and stir the mixture until it combines and comes away from the sides of the pan.
· Remove from the heat and spoon hot mixture into an oval shape onto a plate. Sprinkle each one individually with ground cloves and sugar.
